Front Row: Improvised Shakespeare Company

The Group:

Improvised Shakespeare Company is a critically acclaimed group that performs an improvised Shakespeare play based on the suggestion of a Shakespeare play that has never been done before. It started in Chicago back in 2005 at iO Chicago and has been performing in front of sold out crowds ever since.

The Best:

These guys were very playful with each while staying authentic to the genre. Ridiculously absurd and silly in the best way possible.

My Thoughts:

I loved it so much! It was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. It was the most expensive improv show I’ve ever paid for ($30) and it was worth it. Those guys have everything I look for in a great show and group. I couldn’t recommend them more. I’m not even the biggest fan of Shakespeare, but I had a blast watching ISC create a masterpiece right before my eyes. If you go to a show, try not to yell a suggestion of a mash-up title or a play off of an existing Shakespeare play.

Next Show:

They play at iO Chicago every Thursday at 8 and Friday at 8pm and 10:30pm. They will back in at Largo in Los Angeles June 23rd and 24th.
